About Ana

I am an artisan jewellery designer and metalsmith indulging my passion for creating beautiful pieces of unique handmade jewellery.  I work with precious metals and gemstones and my current style relies heavily on sterling silver, although I occassionally embelish designs with elements of gold.

I consider myself very fortunate to live in a wonderful part of England, close to the south coast and in an area of exceptional beauty known as the New Forest.  The Forest is really not so “new” – it is a former royal deer hunting forest and was created by William the Conquerer in 1079; its stunning scenary provides inspiration throughout all the seasons of the year.

I am also lucky enough to have a purpose-built workshop for my craft just outside my back door!

I use many of the traditional skills of the metalsmith to bring my creations to life: piercing, hammering, forming, filing and soldering are the backbone of every piece.  Stone-setting, etching, fusing, oxidation and reticulation are just some of the techniques used to add texture, colour and interest. In the future I hope to incorporate enamelling into my designs – this is an art and a craft in itself with which I am only just beginning to experiment.

What do I love doing?

… walking with my dogs through the autumn woods and kicking up the fallen leaves; watching the sunrise on misty mornings; the smell of the ocean; a mug of hot chocolate by the fire on a winter’s evening …

How about you?
